Porcelain Veneers Reviews
"Dr. Tozzi and her team were very nice to work with. I went in for a smile makeover consultation. the Dr. Described the process and the time period which the veneers could be done. I decided to go ahead with the procedure and they had my impressions taken at the first appointment along with my before pictures. The whole process took about an hour. The Dr. will be ready to place the mock up veneers at my next appointment. After that, just 1 more appointment to place the porcelain veneers and me new smile will be done!"- M.J. / Facebook / Jun 12, 2018
Am I a good candidate for porcelain veneers?
Dr. Tozzi will determine if you're a good candidate for porcelain veneers by performing a comprehensive dental exam to assess your overall oral health. Ideal candidates should not have signs of periodontal disease, habitually clench their jaw, or grind their teeth. Cosmetic veneers may be used to hide stains and chips on the teeth, improve worn down or misaligned teeth, and fix teeth that are unevenly shaped or spaced. At Michaela Tozzi, DMD, your cosmetic veneers will be custom made to fit comfortably over your existing teeth for an attractive, natural appearance. At your consultation, Dr. Tozzi will listen to your goals and concerns so she can personalize your treatment.
What should I expect with porcelain veneers?
It's important to note that porcelain veneers are usually placed over two separate appointments. During your first visit, Dr. Tozzi will prepare your teeth by shaving off a thin layer of your tooth enamel. This process is a crucial step in your treatment as it ensures that the veneers will sit evenly on the surface of your teeth for a natural appearance. Then, Dr. Tozzi will expertly craft a physical model of your veneers to incorporate your unique customizations. A digital impression will then be taken of your teeth, and both the digital and physical models will be sent over to our local dental lab. Temporary veneers will be placed at this time while your high-quality porcelain veneers are being crafted. After about two weeks, we will schedule your second appointment to have you fitted for your porcelain veneers. Dr. Tozzi can also make minor adjustments to achieve the best fit possible.
What is the recovery like for porcelain veneers?
Since getting cosmetic veneers normally doesn't require anesthesia, you will be able to continue your daily routine after your appointment. You may experience some mild sensitivity to hot and cold food, but this should gradually subside within 1 – 2 days. Veneers should be cared for just like your natural teeth with daily flossing and brushing. While porcelain veneers are more stain resistant compared to the natural teeth, you should still avoid certain foods and drinks to help keep your smile white. To prevent damaging or dislodging your veneers, we recommend that you refrain from chewing on hard or sticky objects, like ice, pens, gum, lollipops, and saltwater taffy. We also encourage our patients to continue visiting our office for their yearly dental exams and biannual cleanings so we can monitor the condition of your veneers, teeth, gums, and overall oral health. With great care, porcelain veneers can last up to ten years.
Will insurance cover my porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are an elective procedure so they are generally not paid by dental insurance. Michaela Tozzi, DMD does accept many payment options, such as low-interest medical financing, to help make your treatment more affordable. During the consultation, Dr. Tozzi will personalize your treatment plan to fit your needs and budget. She will go over a quote for your treatment and explore your payment options.
