Dr. Michaela Tozzi: You know, it is interesting that dentists are really starting to branch out into providing Botox procedures to patients. To me, it makes sense. We've had an extensive training in head and neck anatomy and, obviously, that's important when you're placing Botox in various areas of a patient's face, you kind of need to know where you're going with it.

Dr. Michaela Tozzi: It's been so cool to see how Botox has really expanded and been able to help us as dentists treat conditions that patients come in with. And prior to us using Botox, we didn't have, really, a lot of options to be able to help these people.

Dr. Michaela Tozzi: So, for example, something that I do all the time in my office is I treat TMJ. That encompasses clenching, grinding, all of those things. So Botox, what it does is, by injecting it in these muscles that are hyperactive and causing the clenching and grinding, by relaxing those muscles, you're inevitably taking away the need to even wear a night guard.

Dr. Michaela Tozzi: Living in Vegas, there's a lot of dentists here that do cosmetic dentistry. What sets my office apart from maybe some of these other dentists is that, for me, just providing a beautiful set of veneers isn't enough. I really want to make sure that I showcase those veneers with a beautiful frame. That means correcting that asymmetry, maybe we need to do a little bit of lip filler just to give a little bit more fullness to the lips, or correct that gummy smile.
